How Transfers Work
- Set Up Your TransferChoose your direction and amount: send USD from your Metro account back home, or move money from abroad into your US account. You get a live exchange rate, locked in for a short window while you finish.
- Fund The TransferSending from the US? Fund from your Metro account via ACH, wire, RTP, or FedNow. Sending from abroad? Pay from your local bank with Pix (Brazil) or SPEI (Mexico), with the exact deposit instructions shown.
- The Money ArrivesUSD lands in the US bank account you chose, or local currency arrives in the recipient account back home. You can follow the status from your dashboard the whole way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pix and SPEI move within minutes, and US rails like RTP and FedNow are instant too. Once your funding clears, the payout typically completes the same day, whether that is USD landing in your US account or money arriving back home. You can follow the status from your dashboard the whole way.
One transfer fee, shown in your quote summary before you authorize anything. It covers processing and bank delivery. There are no wire fees and no hidden margin added afterward: the amount you see on the quote is the amount that settles.
A live rate that updates as you type. When you continue, we lock the quote for a short window (about 5 minutes) so the rate cannot move between authorizing and paying.
Most members are approved in about 10 minutes, but a review can occasionally take up to 24 hours. You can safely close the page while you wait: your progress is saved, and we will email you as soon as you are approved.
Transfers have a $10 USD minimum and a $10,000 USD maximum per transfer. The transfer screen tells you right away if an amount is outside those limits.
